Dynamic Simulation of a Multi-Stage Axial and Centrifugal Compressor using Mean-Line approach

Quasi-1D mean-line flow models are common design tools for engine compressor steady-state analysis, but they are not commonly used in dynamic simulations. As in axial compressors, the blade aerodynamic force distribution is perpendicular to the mean-line (blade camber line), and dynamic flow models would lack a force source term to balance the adverse pressure gradient. To enrich the design tools, the project focus on developing a dynamic mean-line flows model, which predicts stall and choke operations without external performance info. It simulates compressor transients in both rig-test and engine setup, and captures the flow disturbance propagation as 1D acoustic waves.
