Routine Holds
The School will routinely place a "hold" on your pre-registration until you have met with your advisor. This is usually removed when your advisor signs a copy of your course schedule, you place the schedule in your academic folder, and submit that folder to the AE Academic Office. Once the hold is removed, you will be able to pre-register according to the time assigned to you on your Time Ticket.
If for any reason you are not able to meet with your AE advisor before pre-registration (or during the times separately designated for this purpose by your advisor), the "hold" will remain on your pre-registration and you will not be able to pre-register. Please contact your AE advisor directly to schedule a meeting during which the "hold" can be removed.
Drop Hold
Before dropping any course, you must consult with your AE advisor. To encourage this, AE places "drop holds" on all schedules at the end of the first week of the semester. You will not be able to drop a course on the web until this hold is removed. Your advisor can make suggestions about how to proceed, and can also authorize the AE Academic Office to remove the hold. This can often be handled by email, but some advisors may require an office visit. Remember to ask first -- don't wait until the last moment.
