Alumni from the Georgia Tech School of Aerospace Engineering do not fit neatly into a simple mold. Among our more than 6,000 alumni are leaders and innovators in government, industry, academia and the military. AE alumni are astronauts, CEOs, professors, and researchers.

AE Alumna Kathryn Engelhardt: Shattering Glass Ceilings with Intellect and Resilience

AE alumna Kathryn “Kathy” Engelhardt (AE 1982, M.S. AE 1983), née Dunlop, has returned to Georgia, steps away from her beloved Georgia Tech, grateful for every leg of her journey. She reflected on her extraordinary experiences, lifelong friendships, and the lessons learned. Georgia Tech equipped her to excel in industry and navigate male-dominated spaces with tenacity and grace. 


 

Outstanding AE Alumni Honored at College of Engineering Alumni Awards

A trio of Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE) alumni were honored at the 2025 College of Engineering Alumni Awards Induction Ceremony, held on March 8. This year's AE honorees included Charles H. Gaylord, Jr. AE 1967, M.S. AE 1969 (Engineering Hall of Fame), Jacob M. Kwasnik, AE 2008 (Council Of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni), and Gary Weissel, AE 1993 (Academy Of Distinguished Engineering Alumni).  

Nine AE Alumnae Honored During the Pathway of Progress Grand Opening

 The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE) celebrates its nine alumnae who were among the inaugural honorees, Laurie Baker, Elizabeth “Biff” Córdoba, Tiffany Davis, Yvonne Donaldson Pendleton, Lara O’Connor Hodgson, Kavya Manyapu, Jenny Moore, Anne Patterson, and Mary Wright.

AE Alumni Inducted into the College of Engineering Alumni Hall of Fame

Ben Bellows, Ray T. Muggridge, III, and C. Anne Patterson among the 28 Georgia Tech graduates honored. 

AE Alumna Honored for Advancing Vertical Flight Technology

The Vertical Flight Society (VFS) announced that Daniel Guggenheim School alumna Natasha Schatzman, BSAE 2011, MSAE 2014, PhDAE 2018, is the 2023 recipient of the VFS François-Xavier Bagnoud Award. 

AE Alumna Adele Payman Receives Hertz Foundation Fellowship

The $250,000 scholarship will go towards her research interests in space plasma physics.
