AE Administrative Staff members Tiwanna Williams and Michelle Hall (L-R in the photo) along with Vivian Robinson - O'Neal, successfully completed the Georgia Tech CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) course on November 11.

The CERT course benefits any citizen who takes it - making them better prepared to respond to and cope with the aftermath of a disaster. Since 1993, when this training was made available nationally by FEMA, communities in 28 states and Puerto Rico have conducted CERT training.

The training consists of:

  • Disaster Preparedness
  • Disaster Fire Suppression
  • Disaster Medical Operations
  • Disaster Psychology and Team Organization

The CERT course concluded with a drill at the old EPD building on 14th Street focusing on first aid, search and rescue, fire safety and triage.
