Studying under the supervision of an AE faculty

If you are planning to study a particular topic under the supervision of an AE faculty member, you want AE 4900 Special Problem. This is the designated course number for supervised learning.

  1. Download and complete this form completely:
  2. Save it as: YourLastName, YourFirstName.doc
     
  3. Email it to the professor supervising the work for approval.
     
  4. Check with the advising professor to make sure that the form has been forwarded to the AE Academic Office:permits@ae.gatech.edu.When the approved form has been received by the AE Academic Office, you will be able to register for the course.
  5. Register for the course.

Restrictions

  1. Permits may only be requested during certain time windows.
  2. This website is the only method for requesting this type of permit into an AE course. If we do not receive your request through the above procedure, it will be disregarded.

  3. The AE Academic Office can only offer permits for AE courses. If the class you need is not AExxxx, then you must contact the department offering the course with your request.
