The 2025 Best Colleges rankings mark 10 consecutive years of AE being in the top 2.

The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering’s (AE School) undergraduate program remains No. 2 in the nation and No.1 among public institutions, according to the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Undergraduate Programs rankings. This marks the 10th consecutive year the AE School has placed in the top two programs. Earlier this year, U.S. News also ranked the AE School’s graduate programs No 2. in the nation. 

“This new ranking is a great reflection of the continuous dedication of the entire AE School community of students, faculty, and staff,” said Mitchell Walker, William R.T. Oakes, Jr. AE School Chair. “We are committed to upholding this legacy of excellence and empowering our students to lead and redefine the future of aerospace engineering.” 

The AE School’s commitment to undergraduate education and innovation is reflected in its emphasis on student success, offering opportunities for undergraduate research, curriculum enhancements, and career exploration. 

With new state-of-the-art facilities on the horizon, the AE School is positioned to further elevate the learning experience of the next generation of aerospace engineers. The new Hangar facility for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, which is set to open in Fall 2025, will provide students with unique opportunities to solve real-world challenges, from developing carbon-free fuels to designing next-generation aircraft. 

This passion for innovation and career exploration is also showcased in AE students’ drive to create their own registered student organizations, leading  them to new heights year after year. They are applying their classwork to solve engineering problems and strive for excellence as they compete numerous national competitions. More than that, they are building community and working together to achieve their goals and create lasting bonds.

The College of Engineering overall ranks No. 4 among undergraduate engineering programs in the country and second among public universities. Georgia Tech placed No. 33.
